David Hampton: This is set to be an occasional blog – a few personal views on the subject of reality television. I’m not sure whether I’m unfortunate to have lived through the age of celebrity or lucky. On the one hand I feel ashamed to live in a country where such mediocre ability is celebrated, on the other, the genre reassures me that people are predictable – like directionless moths drawn to wherever the light shines brightest. I see this as a blog for our time – a celebration of all that is shallow, base, talentless. So very 2009. Take a look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? dh.
